What this line is, in plain English

Grand Forks Auto Locksmith is a referral line for Grand Forks, started in 2026 and run from Minnesota. Dial the number, tell us what happened, and we pass the job to an independent automotive locksmith who covers Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. You describe the problem — keys in the car outside the Alerus Center, fob dead in a Walmart parking lot on 32nd Ave, key snapped in a frozen door on campus — and the locksmith calls you back with their own price and ETA before anyone rolls a truck.

We are not a locksmith company. Nobody here picks locks. We built and run the phone line; the work is done by an independent local pro who calls you back. You pay the locksmith directly. We never bill you for anything.

Why bother? Just Google a locksmith, right?

Try it sometime when it's -20° and your hands are going numb. Search ads are hard to judge in a hurry. The one to watch for is the "$19 service call" that turns into a much bigger number once someone is standing at your car. Whoever you call, get the full price on the phone before anyone drives.

Our part is boring. One number. We pass your job to an independent local locksmith and ask them to quote the full price on the callback, before anyone drives anywhere. If the price changes at your car, tell us.

How we keep the lights on

The locksmith may pay us a referral fee. Callers never pay us anything, and the locksmith's pricing is theirs, not ours. It's in our interest that every call goes well, because this line is only worth something if people in Grand Forks can trust it.
